
Jared is a life long entrepreneur and working father of five. He grew up in the rural area of Otsego Township. After finishing high school, he left Michigan eventually returning the Grand Rapids area to finish his degree, graduating with a bachelors in education from Aquinas College in 2013 and currently working on his masters as of 2025. In 2015 he sold his home in Grand Rapids and moved back to Otsego where he purchased a home and one of the local bars in the city of Otsego. While working on that project, Jared also sat on the local chamber board donating his time to help other local businesses thrive. Even at a young age, Jared shared his parents drive for hard work. By age 10 he was already earning money bailing hay on neighboring farms and by age 12 he was raising his own livestock. Jared excelled in and out of the classroom, working both harder and smarter, he always possessed a unique talent to think outside of the box and solve problems in somewhat unconventional ways. The people who know him, know that he is full of ambition and is always working hard on something. Whether it's a business idea, a feature length film or running for a state house seat. Jared believes that opportunity and hard work are the keys to success and he will work hard to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Jared started his journey to the State Capitol in 2022 running unopposed in the Democratic party and then running in the General Election on November 3rd 2022 against his republican opponent, Representative Wendzel. Jared recieved 37.29% of the vote while spending less than $3,500. During this run for office Jared held numerous endorsements including union labor support and several progressive organizations. Jared returned to the ballot in 2024 in the Democratic Primary however lost in the Primary and did not advance to the general election. After disagreements with the Democratic Party, Jared left the party to run as an independant candidate and started collecting signatures in June or 2025. During this campaign, Jared was approached by the Green Party of Michigan and agreed to accept their nomination to the ballot.
Jared is committed to the families and residents of district 39, ensuring that their interest and concerns are those that are protected and represented in Lansing. You will often hear Jared say "I can not be bought" after all, the reason Jared began this journey was to improve the lives of all Michiganders that continue to be neglected by our current system and legislators. Jared believes that as a legislator one can not accept corporate and PAC money and still represent the people That is why Jared has made a promise not to accept any money from corporations or PAC's including dark money.
